How many watch way less TV because the computer is more fun? - Page 2

I have a 13" vcr/tv combo so tv is not enjoyable + no cable so the choice is obvious for me. If i had cable you can be sure id only watch espnews, fsn (warriors, A's). if tv had h/c porn then id watch it more. just get ess.tv and you dont need anything else for braindead tv watching...

most of the time i try to do only one
but i find myself watching tv/dvds while doing CAD work for school

that or since comcast has free streams of hockey games this season, i do tv-out to my tv and watch hockey

but i will generally watch tv and post to forums or read the news; unless im just too tired

I hardly ever watch tv, and im always on the computer especially as i have a week off college right now.

I just got some on demand channels and Im kinda neglecting my 9300. Its only a couple of days. I think it will be back to normal again after a week or so. More computer less tv. When I had my dell desktop, it was pure computer. I only watch tv at night when Im about to sleep or when I wake up to see the weather/traffic.

what is this thing called (TV)

Computer all the way. When I am home and indoors, I'm on my computer. I may watch 1hr of TV if something is good on the History channels or Discovery channels. When Deadwood is on, I watch it every week.

Lately I've found movies to be really really bad. I've almost completely stopped going to the theater or watching movies on the movie channels. Music? The same thing. Its all derivative knock offs. All the music sounds alike or like an exact copy of some earlier song.

I try to do both, but I can't. I usually leave the tv on while using the nb, but I can't figure out what's going on on the tv, usually :asd:

I do both at the same time. I have a 57in HDTV and HD service with 500 watt surround system. HD picture is pretty shweet It really shows the weaknesses of DVD. Regarding reality TV yeah it is overkill. But there are still some good ones: Trump's Apprentice, Survivor is OK, Surreal Life was pretty wild, and My Favority Brady is pretty nice too. Oh and there is the World Series of Poker, now that is true reality tv The TV shows I like are: Prison Break and Rome. I can't wait for 24, easily the best series on TV!

I watch TV (via DVR) with my laptop on my lap. TiVo for non-high-def shows, and Comcast DVR for HD. I never watch TV live. Never. Surfing notebook forums etc while watching Family Guy is easy enough. When I'm watching something requiring more attention (West Wing or Numb3rs), I try to keep my attention on the TV, and only look at the laptop occasionally.

Yes, reality shows are utter crap. If there were any actual reality in those shows, it might be different. I can't stand Survivor - if they actually dumped people on an island and said "ok, live", that would be cool. But WTF is up with all the damn games/competitions/etc? It's f'ing Double Dare sans Mark Summers. Why is this considered good TV?

Farscape? Awesome. Cancelled.
Firefly? Awesome. Cancelled.
Dead Like Me? Awesome. Cancelled.
Enterprise? Awesome. Cancelled.

WTF? All the best shows get cancelled so we can have room for f'ing Martha Stewart's version of The Apprentice!? Shoot me now.

Actually computer games and internet use is killing the movie industry big time. Hell, for Spielberg to go with EA to make games shows just how much gaming is hurting movies.
