ATI 9200 or GEforceFX go5600

Im looking at two laptops .. for general use and gaming

I NEED good battery life so those big suckers are OUT!.

Im looking at acer with ati 9200 mobility .. or a toshiba with
nvidia geforce go5600

which is gonna be the better for stability and / or performance

im not a super picky gamer but want to play half life 2 .. and some others

and no i cant wait till the 9600 is out and is in some decent machines..

im in singapore and need to buy soon for work..

The GeForce 5600 is better but for Half-life 2 I would really wait for the 9600 if possible. The 9200 mobility is basically the same card as the 9000 so try to avoid that one. I dont think its even a directx 9 card but I might be wrong.

ok but... whats the fuss about dx9

Ok .. im trying my best to wait

the problem is im in singapore (cheap laptops) for only 1 more week the chances of a decent 9600 machine popping up that
have all my other specs are slim ..

most are desktop replacments with bad battery life..
the DELL 8600 looks ok .. but is buy online only.

anyway.. another question

ok so its not DX9 .. .. what does that really mean in the real world..

That you wont be able to play DX9 games like Doom 3 and Half-life 2 with all features turned on.
