Anyone try this? Just wondering if the fan situation (like in the 9300 update) is similar? Any changes in temp or performance? Let us know!

All the cool kids are using i9kfangui for fan and temp control.

Hmmm....guess I'm not COOL enough...But I still want to know if the A05 reduces temp or increases it...heard some rumors that it uses the fans less...which worries me.

It should show in the bios if you enter setup or on the very first bootscreen after power on

I've seen in other threads that the new BIOS version A05 for the 9300 seems to allow an additional 30 to 40 minutes of battery time for the 9300. How does this affect battery life for the XPS? Does this "I9kfangui" application allow you to tweak the fans and save on battery power for the XPS also?

Thanks,
Rayt

Battery life is definetely better...around 25-30min more for me. I don't know the answer about your I9kfangui question since i don't use it....

welll i think you can always switch back to A04 if you don't like it...right?

So wait, can i9kfangui changing the temperatures for the fans to kick in also save 20-30 minutes of battery life?

You're imagining things. Battery life is no better or worse on XPS G2 with this new bios.

it's just my point of view....maybe i'm wrong. Did you up upgrade to A05?
The 9300 bios date is 9/15/05 and Gen 2 is 9/25/05. So you have the right bios

The pronos you were watching before tend to really blow battery power!

The regular drama flick you watched yesterday is much more conservative on your battery.
