BIOS upgrade for M40

Thread Starter
hello! i'm using an m40 and plan to format this...
i saw in toshiba asia website, pc.toshiba-asia.com/support/support.jsp, in the drivers part...a bios driver...and if you'll check its description, it says that fix for the LCD backlight...

i downloaded the exe file and executed in windows...however, i got an error message..=(

anyone knows what really is this? does this fix the washing away of the lower part of m40's LCD?

thanks!

it wont fix that "lower" part of LCD thing...

ONLY use bios from the country and more specifically for your exact model.

Yp5 has a point with that.
Bios upgrades can be really dangeruos. If it is a crack Bios it might blow your whole mobo, and I don't think that it is a cheep thing to play with it. At a desktop you are better protected if you have a dual bios Gigabyte mobo... but on a laptop...
If it already starts with an error I would better forget it. I have an old 4030 and I found at least 3 bios updates but I didn't load them. The mobo recognized my new 40GB HDD, then who needs new bios.
Good luck!
