I never thought of these none major brand name notebook (I mean many years ago) Until recently I was inquring on new laapy and found out that Sagar were getting really good. The lappy itself looks really good.

I used to buy major brand name lappy only (due to the quality.) Now, I just realize that these "major" name brand lappy were produce by either Taiwan or China......

I think it is more important in design and quality parts. I think thr Dell's downside was the screen from what I have read so far.....
You are right about that, it all comes out of Taiwan. The Sager's are awesome no question. However their resell value scares me, they just don't pull any cash on ebay...

im sure aw will pick this one up. if they do, you just have to list it as sager 5720 aka alienware xxxxx and mention they are exactly the same.

also, when you go to sell the m170 a year from now, it will be going up against a $1300 new inspiron 9500 with an 8 series gfx card, a new design, _merom_, and maybe updated screens. i doubt youll even hit a grand. it will probably fetch between 6-800 bucks. youre better off keeping it IMO.

ya I agree. Two and 1/2 years ago, my first Gen Centrino laptop was almost king.
PM1.3
512DDR
64MB 9000 Moblie card Only behind Dells GF4 mobile card
15.1 SXGA+ screen

paided about 1500$ could run any game, and had decent battery life.

Fast forward to this year Got my Dell 9300 w/ upgrades for 1500$. In a year two these laptops value drop like mofo.

Yep, this Sager rival for the XPs m170 sure looks great ... It has that quality look written all over the notebook, if you know what I mean.
Shame, I can't get the Intl Warranty to Slovenia!

goddamn, And I just ordered a 9300 for 2300. Damn it

I bought a sager 9880 a month ago online, and when I got it, I turned it on and it was LOUD! it seems just as loud than my desktop which has 2-120mm Tornadoes. And the LCD was saturated. So I took it back to them (City of Ind) for a refund and now considering a m170. I don't know, maybe i just had a bad batch or something.

damn it

Anyone here planning to buy one? It seems like a better laptop in every way. It's cheaper, looks better, and has more features..

It's really pretty.....

I'd really be all over that new Sager if I didn't just get my m170 for less than $2k.

However, I may just have to sell my iXPS2 and get the Sager in it's place.

Everything on high. 2gig, 6800, 2.13, With extras, bluetooth, tuner, etc. I wish I had the guts to cancel the dell order again

That's a really sweet laptop, I would cancel my 9300 and buy it. Hell, if I didnt need this notebook for school I would have bought it. Man, you cant beat it, especially for only $2000. This was posted a bit ago, but if Sager can put that kind of laptopon the market for that little of money, more power to them.

As far as the two negatives, I use headphones with my laptop because even with a sub the audio quality isnt as good as headphones. Also, Sagers have a good resell value if you know where to go. eBay is a home of morons and scammers, if you sell your laptop in a tech community or personally, people will snatch that up faster than you can believe.

sweet. at arnd $2200 it competes with the dell xps even with max. coupons and their RAM and hD upgrades r much cheaper then dells. if only sager could fix that dead pixel policy. the amd line looks great too. hope there's sufficent cooling for tht otherwise they could turn out to be a bunch of space heaters.
Haha, too late. just noticed that my 9300 changed from boxing to "shipped". Damn. Maybe next time..

so what deal is pctorque going to offer us

From all the issues i have had with my AW7700 and read about other clevo models I just cant trust their engineering for longevity.
i have been wanting that m170 with the 7800 since it came out, thinking of it before i went to sleep at night...lol but the price tag to get a m170decent rig at that price was way to high. sager has put the price right where i like it! i'm getting one, hell at that price you can get 2 compared to the dell price. and that full size keyboard and number pad is sooo sweet. dell will have some serious competition on this one. i think i could sell my rig on ebay and have money left over after buying the sager rig. and i'll bet sager didn't lock out the OC;ing on the 7800...

Wow thats a nice looking desltop replacement notebook. It does seem like Sager is going after a different type of buyer though. Where the XPS M170 screams "gamers only" the Sager is downright "pretty" and would be nice for anyone who is looking for an extremely powerful desktop replacement like me. It's killer looks compared to the 9300 and to tell the truth if anything I think it will affect sales of the 9300 even more than the XPS 170. It won't affect Dells sales very much in total considering I'm not sure how well known the Sager brand is. Glad I saw this and I'm glad I missed the 35% coupon now!
