new 5680 DEAD!!!!!

wtf??? i paid 90 bucks for overnite shipping..i get my sager 5680 today... and its dead! no boot, no nothing! u hit the on button, and it just turns on... yet nothing goes on the screen!!! WTF?!?!?!? looks like im gonna spend quite a bit of money on shipping... i gotta ship this back, put a $2k+ deposit (which i dont think i have) and wait until next week. on top of that... i loose 400 bucks this weekend because i dont have a computer to do my dj gig with... AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! sorry... i need to vent... im extremely pissed off....

How did you try to power it on? With both the battery and AC adapter together or individually or what? I suggest you attempt just the battery and just the AC adapter and see it one or none works...

::EDIT:: whoops nevermind...if the fans turn on but no screen or whatnot that's probably RMA time. You can try reseating the memory but otherwise you should send it back..could be the mobo/processor

If the laptop is truly DOA, you should be able to have Sager cross-ship you a new laptop. Check out this thread

Try hitting Fn F7 a few times just to make sure it's not set to only output to the VGA port.

fixed...

ok.. so i called sager.. they called me back in like 10 minutes.. lmao.. good service... the dude was kinda rude... but ut ended up that the memory was loose... eventhough it didnt look loose... i reseated it... and so far so good... so yeah.. sorry for scarrying everybody!!! but we'll see what happens afta i install everything on here!

Australia has been relatively lucky in that we don't need guns to protect ourselves - we have the Americans . Seriously though we are lucky here in that we have never seen the need to arm every citizen. You can own a gun if you want, it is just I guess we are not as paranoid as you guys.
