Closing lid

This is probably an easy question to answer.. but how can I close the lid of my XPS Gen 2 without it turning off? Just if I want to move it quickly someplace and leave it playing music (with the winamp LED plugin, of course!)?

go to Dell quickset, and change the closed lid setting to "Do Nothing". then it'll just be like normal, but the lid closed. note, in this mode, the screen stays on regardless of your setting for what idle time to turn off the screen, so you should put on a screensaver.

Wrong , The screen turns off when you close it. If you aren't using Quickset, you can set the "Do nothing" in Windows power options.

Hmmm. It'd be nice have some quick way of toggling that option.

Instead of having it depend on the lid closing, just use your blue Fn key and Esc or F1 to standby or hibernate. Then you have all three funtions availabe instantly.
