I have a huge problem , I reguarly clean out the heatsink on my 8890 but now one of the screws wont come out.. Its severely worn down and there is no way i can get any screw driver to turn it and open in....

Im worried my machine is doomed now since its really tough to clean...Do i have any options at all?

Tap and die - What I mean by that is use a very tiny drill and drill into the core of the screw. Then use an equally tiny tap to extract the screw - I think they call it an easy-out (it is screwed in such a manner that when you screw it in, it is actually going to cause the screw to be screwed out). After that happens, you will need to find a replacement screw. Remember, these screws do not hold the world together and should not be overtightened.

You're first attempt at removing the damaged screw should be done with this type of tool.

I would not recommend chucking the tool in a reversable drill. Instead, use a screwdriver that accepts interchangeable 1/4" bits.

Are you sure you can't get that screw out with a pair of needle nose pliers? There really is quite a bit of room around them.

If you have a Sears near by, you should go there with your computer. They should have whatever tool you need, whether it be a small pair of pliers, x-out, or anything else they might suggest.
