I think I'm going to ask my cuz to get the discover card so I don't have to pay for the interest for 12months. I know i can make about 1500 for the first 6 months. Good thing chinese new year is on Feb

So you mean If say I pay 1500 for the first 6 months, Since I didn't meeet the full exact amount of 3699. They will charge me interest for the 1500 as well

Thats a rip off if so

Ok...I read a bit further (although I could not find the "fine print", which I'm sure comes once you have accepted terms) and it seems that if you are making payments during the first 6 months, you will not be charged interest. But BEWARE, this is an old scheme that I've seen many times in my retail career. They often times do hit you with all of the finance charges if you've not paid the principal amount off.

I guess the best thing to do at this point is to have your uncle call AW and let them sort out the finer details of the agreement.

I cannot seem to find a straight answer on the website.

When using the Alien Credit card, you will need to pay each month for 6months the minimum payment, because their promotion does not state "NO Payments for 6months", it just says "6months Same as Cash".

If within 6months you pay off the balance, no interest is added. If you surpass the date when 6months is up and you still have a balance, and even if it is just an hour past the deadline, then all the interest from 6months ago, at say the 21% + Prime rate, is added right away to the entire balance...and if you still only pay the minimum amount from that point on and the balance is not paid off, then every month you will be paying the 21% interest or more, depending on the prime rate at the time. So best advice is that if someone is just short say $1000 on a $3500 laptop, and you want the laptop now and have most of the money, go for the Alienware card and make sure to pay off the balance within the 6month period. If you only have half of the entire cost or less for the laptop, then do NOT even try using the Alienware card, you will for sure end up paying more, because most people tend to slack when making credit card payments, and just think "well Ill just pay the minimum this month, and pay more at a later month" ...It will just end up being a habit for you to think that you have enough time to pay it when all of a sudden the 6month deadline is up.

Take it from me, I learnt my lesson a long time ago and I ended up having to work 5 years just to pay off debts, before returning to college.

Each credit card company has their own base %, then by how good your credit is or how much you gripe you can get it lower.

Yea I know every credit card is different, but if you look at american express or discover wensite they state the apr percentage as the visa doesn't. Just tells you the benefit and apply options. They don't even have a contact number listed except for visa market

my advice!

My advice goto a bank and get a computer loan you usually can get a really good intrest rate and are almost gauranteed aproval if you have been with that bank for awhile. That is what i did and got like 7% intrest rate your not gonna get that with any credit card. Plus most banks have online banking and somtimes you can apply on the net. My bank has online paymesnt too so i can use my laptop to pay for my laptop crazy huh! Un fortunatly this laptop is gonna cost me 138$ a month for the next 2 years but i hope to pay it off before then! Also loans build great credit alot faster than a credit card can. Luckily i also go the 2 year warrenty so its at least coverd till I finish paying for it.

How much a month are you paying with the interest?
And when you get approved, how are they paying you? what should I tell alienware since i see no bank option.

First you should cancel the order you have now and forget the alienware financeing stuff. Then goto your local bank wherever your money is preferably unless you keep it in a mattres or something like that. Ask them if they have a small loan or even a computer loan you will propably need an invoice wich is basicaly a pice of paper listing the system you want and how much it cost. Then all you need to do is wait for them to approve you i got aporved on the spot. Then they will transfer how ever much you need I got 3100$ into your bank account then you can use any means you wan to pay for your laptop. I used my visa check card and did not have to wait for any signature paper or anything. AS for the details on the loan i pay $135 a month for the next 2 years at %7 intrest wich as i said befor is way better than any credit card will very give you. you can also work out withthe bank exactly waht you pay monthly by how long the loan is for for example 2 year loan has bigger monthly payments than a 3 year loan.

Shyy,

He has been clear to point out credit as an issue. In another post, he mentioned he does not have a bank account.

What i the approval guidelines like for a loan with the bank?

I used the AW credit card; And the only reason I did was the 6 months same as cash; See, I know I can pay this off in 6 months and still leave my money in my account gaining interest. What I'm saying is unless you KNOW you can pay the thing off in 6 months DO NOT use the AW credit card. Do what Craig said and contact your bank.
