Asus VS Gateway screen

I have a gateway m680 and am thinking of selling it and switching over to the asus camp. Has anyone seen both the gateway m680 and asus z70va screens and can give me a good comparison of the two? The only thing that is holding me back from selling my gateway is how beautiful the glossy screen is while the z70va has a matte screen. I don't know how much of a downgrade it would be. Any opinions?

IMHO, I like the matte screens better. I have yet to see a glossy screen that doesn't have nasty reflections in the environments I typically use them in. As for actual screen quality (color reproduction, "washiness", etc), I can't attest for a direct comparison between those two.

I have a secondary laptop I use from time to time. The matte screen on it doesn't even compare to my Gateway in terms of image clarity, color vibrancy, etc. While I can't speak for the ASUS screen specifically, I can say that I have yet to see a matte LCD that rivals an ultrabright/brightview (depending on the OEM) LCD.
