BTW, my M170 send to me today has lots scratch on the cover. How is your M170?

Hi,

Yes I've updated it. I'm at work so I'm can't really check much. I'm wondered if this will give any performance gains though I doubt it.

It's got a couple nothing to bad. Do you know if it's possible to get the covers if you didn't choose them first off?

did you remove the plastic film on your cover? It will be scratchless....

No, I haven't but there are still scratches. I just checked behind it. God I'm sad! I still have the plastic keyboard cover on too!

Very OT, but the XPS has 2 layers of plastic on top of it, of which the second one is VERY hard to see and I honestly think that many owners never have noticed this. That second layer of plastic is what contains all the scratches, remove that and you should be fine (at least I was, initially having done the same misstake as you).

Thanks lot for replying. Someone has pointed this out to me. I think I'll leave the second one on for good measures.

keyboard cover?? I did not have anything on top of keyboard when I received my notebook.

I only have one very thin clear film cover on the cover of notebook. Is this normal to have just one film cover?? man, it has lots scratch on top of it even with few deep scratch that I am sure scratch the metal cover already.
