Sweet! Ive got a dead pixel on the right side of my screen but only notice it when im dodging bullets in the darkness of doom3. Yeah it sucks that this shit happens but as long as they adhere to pixels being in the proximity of performance issues gaming wise then its all good.

/cant stop playing BF2

It's odd that the pixel didn't go away after you tried rubbing it. The company I work for recently purchased three Viewsonic LCD screens and for a while they were great. One day I noticed a stuck pixel on one of the screens and had heard about rubbing them out. I took my finger and sure enough after a few seconds of rubbing the dead pixel was fixed. (shame I couldn't charge the company for fixing their computers ) Anyways I'm glad to hear it all worked out for you in the end.
