Well, i was just wondering if MSI is a good laptop for gaming since i couldnt find any forums on MSI....so yeah is it good? and wheres a good online retailer?

Depends on the game, and depends on the specs...

pick something with a gaming-caliber video card and CPU, and you're set...

Yeah, the GPU and CPU are really the most important things. It is true that some makes and models perform better than others even if they have the same specs, but MSI is a noteable company and produces solid products.

Look into the MSI-1029 for a good, mid-level gaming computer at an excellent price.

Hope this helps!

really, for the price the 1029 is as good as it gets

The name on the case makes no difference, its what is inside. The name may give you a hint as to the build quality though.

Grim is right, the 1029 is a decent machine for games and the price is good.

Another vote for the 1029.

Im considering ordering a 1029 from here: http://www.laptoplogic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1126

So you decided to get the 1029?
I would tend to stay away from cyberpower at least. It's not worth the risk with their customer service. Not at all saying it's bad...just that there are other places that are much less risky!

Again, you won't go wrong with the MS-1029. Everything good you hear about it like thin/light/strong build/no flex/brilliant screen etc is true! Got mine with the MT-40 CPU. Playing Half Life 1 source (still an awesome game!), Half Life 2, Guild Wars, Flatout. it's FAST!

did about 4 hours of Serious Sam and Quake4 on the 1029, no problems, no lockups or anything. but it does crank out some heat, so don't place small chocolate bars anywhere near the vent.
