About the MSI machines: The Acer Ferrari's, in tests, get 3.5-4 hours -- with comparable equipment. (Turion, higher-clocked X700, 15.4", etc.) Why does the MSI only get 2.5-3?
you have to be careful with battery testing, it's hard to tell what people are doing to test. you can get 3.5 hours with the 1029 if you work in a very dim room and only type in notepad.
The published life of the Ferrari 4005 is 3.0 hours depending on usage (same as 1029). most independent reviewers have put it at anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. The 1029 is about the same.
either way, i'd make a decision between the two based more on the LCD and looks more than the battery life difference, if there is any. the ferrari is a nice system, though.
