I have the MS-1029, and if you look at my sig you will see the config/price for the machine. It is quite a machine, but.. the dude on the other side of the hall (im in a dorm) has a Dell XPS Gen 1. It has the same size display (15.4"), but is at WUXGA resolution. That is nice, I wish this had at least WSXGA.. but I have an ext monitor hooked up.. so not too worry. Also.. I am having a problem w/ my wireless card. This machine has 3 cables for the wireless card. A White, a Black, and a half white-black. My card is just a wi-fi b/g, so which ones go to what? The card has the two standard plugs for them (main and aux)

An antenna is an antenna is an antenna. In other words, it simply does not matter which one you plug in, you'll just be left with one that won't be attached as you don't have MSI's combo card. Just use any 2 to plug into the main and aux connectors.

Where did you get your computer? That is the cheapest I've seen that configuration go for.

I bought the barebone system from ACOOL, the ram/wifi card from Newegg, the processor from eWiz, and the hdd from a friend. the total came out to about that. Didnt take long to assemble, aside from the wifi card that is still in the box heh. thx for the advise/assistance w/ the hook-ups, ill install that and see how it works.

how much did you pay for the barebones altogether?

Well, i was able to get a Targa ( MS-1029 ) for 950 euros ( about the same in dollars, 950$ ).

MT32 3000+ - 80GB 5400rpm - 1GB ( 2 * 512mb 166mhz ) - wifi/bt - etc etc
DVB-T Cardbus
mini optical mouse

The sold them briefly for 999€ ( maybe a dozen from a overstock or rest stock about 2 months ago ). It was never advertised in the tradeadd's, only briefly on that shops website. And i was able to buy one second hand from somebody who did noticed the add ( only 2 months old ) with 3 year warranty ( 2.8 effective ) ( pickup included ) for 950€

I noticed why he sold it very fast. Unstable as hell. Windows frose up a lot etc.

Well, updated the bios from 1.8 ( yes, he was still running the original 6 month old bios ), and updated it to the 2.5. A complete reinstall with a fresh windows ( with up to date drivers ). Stable as hell. A amazing result ... his system bootup = 620 a 640mb free ram. My fresh reinstall ( with all drivers & essentials ( anti virus, firewall, wifi, bt etc ) ), 800mb free memory in startup

I consider this one hell of a deal.
