What do u think of the WUXGA on a 15 inch? I recently got the Inspiron 9300 with WUXGA (sry guys went dell for like $1200) on the 17 inch and its still very small. almost unreadablly small how can u read wuxga on a 15 inch?....u got any good ways of upping the font or ur taking it straight 96dpi wuxga normal font

That's a good question Syan, I went up to 120 DPI and that helped a lot. However, it's not windows that I have problems with, it's the programs that I'm running. It's definitely hard to see but I haven't spent much time on it, I'm actually about to go work on it for about 4-5 hours and then i'll go from there.

pplepiew, so you put your nushield underneath the metal jack of the LCD, not just the case bezel?

Re: WUXGA on 15.4", maybe I'm used to it, but I find it helps if you change the font. I find that some of the default fonts makes some of the text hard to read. Also, it may be the background color upon which you are reading the text. Anyhow, no offense on your 9300, but I believe the screen on most of Sagers are better than Dell's. I had a dell with uxga before this, and I noticed I would get eye fatigue a lot quicker than on the Sager (and this is starring at text editors at 8pt).

@Syan48306
i keep my 3880's wuxga's text size at 96dpi and i can read any text no problem. its also helpful for privacy especially when you have chinese people around you at a bookstore or coffee shop. don't worry i'm chinese and i do it too. xD

Hmm, not sure what you mean now, aren't the cover and bezel one and the same? I shove it in the frame, here's a pic:

Sorry, picture is not showing up on my end. What I'm referring to as the bezel is the plastic casing around the lcd itself. If you take the plastic bezel off, you will see the actual lcd unit. Around the lcd unit is the metal jacket. My problem is that when I take the bezel off to apply the nushield and put the bezel back on; the edge of the bezel pushes down on the nushield around the perimeter so that there is a slight bulge all around the viewable area. The center area is fine, it's the bulging at the perimeter that's annoying me. I attribute this bulging to the nushield sitting on top of the lcd's metal jacket while the bezel pushes down on the nushield. So I was thinking about sliding the nushield underneath the metal jacket itself but I don't want to damage the lcd itself because there's very little room underneath the metal jacket.

I changed the image host, does it work now? It was full size before anyway, which was annoying...

There's nothing to take apart. You just stick it in the sides, pulling it out a bit with your nail so the shield goes fully in...

Sorry, picture isn't showing up. But yeah, first time I installed it was that way. But it was virtually impossible to do while trying to not get any dust particals underneath. After a couple of tries, I just decided to take the bezel apart and put the film in. Ended up being less frustrating, faster, and no more buying extra films (those things are easy to crease up).

Anyhow, just curious if I was the only one who was seeing the slight bulge.

That's weird, do you see pictures on the first page? Does anyone else see the picture? It works fine for me...

I don't see a bulge, no...but yeah, I gave up on not trying to get dust particles or fingerprints on the shield. However I used an anti-static dust wipe on the shield before installing it so I just had to wipe the prints off once it was installed.

That would be a negatory. Actually, it's kinda weird, maybe on my end. I don't see it, but the ref is in the source code.. I thought my system was filtering it out, but I'm not filtering anything from imagethrust or imageshack. But by bulging I meant a 1-2 cm slight curving/bulging up from the lcd surface to the edge of the bezel. Anyhow, thanks for the clarification.

Ah! Ok, yeah, that's how I had it at first. Getting that last bulge under the frame is the hardest part. This is where lifting the shield upwards comes is handy..Just shove it up then pull outwards the frame near the bulge. I try to simultaneously shove a vertical and horizontal side of the shield at the same time at this point...really, its try and error, you'll get it eventually. I'm surprised it didn't work after taking the frame apart though...

Woops, sorry about that, not "1-2cm slight curving/bulging" but 1-2 mm. I saw your picture, and it looks like it's doing the same thing on yours. It's not that noticeable when the screen is on, but is noticeable nevertheless. Also when there's a dark background, the warping produced by the NuShield cover is very annoying. That's why I try to keep it as flat as possible, i.e. shove it under the metal jacket.

Actually mine is on flat right now. try playing with it some more (yeah, shove it under the metal jacket...only way really). I actually think it looks best with a dark background...
