Not to me. It's ugly. An X700? C'mon Sony get your act together, the Mobility Radeon X800 XT had been out for nearly a year now and unless you at least put one in your flagship laptop, I won't buy Sony.

Doesn't look great, but it's not too ugly, either. Probably looks a lot better IRL.

As for the X700, what's wrong w/ that? Not everyone is so stuck up that they have to have the absolute top-of-the-line video card.

It's a rebranded consumer version of the 17" BX series laptop. I did like the A series design a whole lot better though...

But you buy a Sony like this for the screen and not the graphics. Or at least, that's how I see it. For Photoshopping and art, you can't get much better for laptops (they either look worse or don't offer the same resolution).

looks like one of those MSI's...

and hte lcd is very low res compared to other 17"ers. id much rather have a sager 5720 or xps m170 with wuxga over this thing if im doing graphics.

no graphics isnt just about resolution its about color accuracy, and black blacks.

If they've dropped that lovely WUXGA screen for a a sloppy WXGA one, my next upgrade will be to Sager or (gasp) Dell.

Hey I wouldn't have thought you'd been needing an upgrade. Don't you already own an A Series, apart from high resolustion gaming, I can't see anything that machine wouldn't be able to handle for years to come.

I like to upgrade a lot to get power and minimize resale losses. An A600 with 2.1 may be in my immediate future.
