So, i've been on w/ XPS Support to resolve this problem....here are the details:

I have a Dell 2005FPW which has a DVI and VGA connection (along w/ others). When i hook up my i9100 (which has an ATI card) via the DVI, i get dualview support no problem. This also works w/ a VGA cable - no problem.

When i connect my new M1170 via DVI, i get a message on the Dell FPW stating it cannot support the current mode (DVI-D) when i try and do dualview. When i switch to make the FPW only screen, picture is fine. When i connect a VGA between the M170 & FPW, i get DualView display, BUT, the M170 screen shacks / flickers (can't change the refresh rate - stuck @ 60 hz).

The XPS tech checked the tech'l specs on the i9100 and tells me that the lappy there supports DVI-I and no DVI-D. The DVI-I can handle this type of setup, but he is unsure why the DVI-D is not supported in this mode. So, Dell has raised this internally and opened a case #. I have no overclocking, nothing fancy, just "stock" drivers from Dell's site. I will be very disappointed if this cannot be done as it seems to be odd (as the tech agreed).

The tech'n for XPS support was nice, and understanding and has tried everything i can imagine he can try. So, now we wait. If anyone has an opportunity out there to try this and was successful, PLEASE let me know. Send a PM or post here. Thanks!!!
