Is your XPS/i9300 your main gaming machine ?

Thread Starter
I'm just curious what other people think/do.
Let's say you had unlimited money to spend on gaming. Will you go for a powerful desktop/ gaming console /your laptop ?

My answer:
I'm not a heavy gamer but I do like to play all the new games. I spend about 10-15 hours a week on gaming (longer if I have the time and my gf lets me ,lol )
I do plan to buy either the Xbox 360 or the PS3 when they come out and treat them as my main gaming machine.
For RTS games , which I like - PC is still the way to go. I'll use the gaming console for all the rest.

yep... laptop at the moment for all the RTS and RPG goodness i can get on PC.. and my gamecube for nintendo titles.. Ideally i'll get one of the next gen consoles.. revolution or 360 probably..

I use my XPS 2 a lot more for gaming than I do my X850XT desktop, although I spent plenty of time on the Cube/PS2/Xbox as well as PC, none more than any other really.

The XPS 2 is my only computer during fall, winter, and spring quarters. During vacation, back home I can use an Athlon XP 2800+, 1GB RAM, 128mb 6800 vanilla. It's a good computer, but my laptop is definitely faster.

Even if that desktop was faster, I still wouldn't get the nice 1920x1200 widescreen like I do on my XPS2.

Main rig for everything from gaming to schoolwork. I actually got this to be portable and powerful enough to replace my desktop completely.

Same.

Except I don't go to school.

Or to work, for that matter.

This IS my computer.

Gaming desktop: AMD FX-55 with 2 X 7800GTX vid cards in SLI
Gaming notebook: XPS 2, 2.0GHz , Go6800 Ultra, 2 GB Ram
Gaming console: Xbox (will probably add Xbox 360 when they are out)
Gaming handheld: PSP & Nintendo DS

= Problem: Not enough time to enjoy gaming toys!

PS3 too..

I think PS3 will kick XBox 360 ass soon and that's why XBox planned to release first and pull in the market before PS3 release.

I used to hate notebooks, but now that they have gaming notebooks I don't know if I'll ever buy a desktop again. Maybe when I'm through with college and have lots of money I'll build a sweet gaming system...
