Although some sections are similar to Doom3, the overall game seems to be quite different - proper outdoor areas for a start. Another big difference is that you are with a squad of AI teammates in Quake4, plus the gameplay isn't reliant on single monsters jumping out on you all the time.

). btw, is it just me or so some texture in the Doom3 engine just look too blocky? I noticed the same thing in Doom 3 and thought "wtf, that takes away so much from the game?" For instance, the bio scanners as soon as you arrive on Mars, look at their textures. Anyways, great looking game
