IMO i like the X2s better than the FX... but both chips rock. Its a big system, so dont expect ultra-portability.
For a laptop, this thing will probably get you #1 performance overall of any notebook on the market, games or cpu activities.
However, considering that it is mostly a performance portable - and you are paying for 2 hard drives, DEFINETLY DEFINETLY DEFINETLY get raid 0. The performance increase IMO is astronomical. The difference between 2 computers more often than not is not cpu, but hard drive speed. Windows load times, game load times, overall system feel from my experience is alot affected by hard drives. And since this is a performance system, i think you'de be much happier with raid 0.
Just a brief rundown of what raid is if you dont know
Raid 0 -- take 2 hard drives, and write each byte on every other drive. So if you have 4 bites, and 2 drives, the first HD gets bytes 1 and 3, the second 2 and 4. This effectively doubles your hard drives speed, with 100% capacity. (2x 100 gig drives = 200 gigs storage, same as non-raid storage wise, but double speed)
Raid 1 - Every byte gets written twice, once on each drive. Mostly for security, incase a drive dies.
Raid 5 - parity and other such things which im not aware of - but it does require 3+ identicle drives i believe, so unimportant here.
IMO <3 Raid 0.
