i have been thiking more and more about selling t-shirts online lately. i have a bunch of ideas and such, some gaming related. i know there are tons of novelty t-shirt companies online these days, and i was just wondering if anyone actually buys those kind of t-shirts. i am not trying to sell my own stuff, just seeing if there is a market still.

i would make alienware t-shirts, but i bet they would get pretty pissed...

I'd buy one, or a few even if they were good, cool and quite large.

Like six X large. I'm a gamer, who likes to eat.

Beavis sells autographed T-shirts on Ebay, pic's of little people mowing his lawn, washing his car, cleaning the bathroom etc on the back and on the front is the King himself holding his infamous black mamba stick and a can of crisco...quite impressive, add his autograph and you got a real winner at Lan parties and casual friday at work or church on sunday.....

does anyone know much about copyright stuff? like could i use "storm the front" on a t-shirt? i know it is in a copy protected game and all, and gamers would get it, so is that illegal? i am lookig to make a few bucks here, not get the bejeebers sued out of me.

If your serious, spend a few bucks and speak to a Lawyer, especially since this is a for profit venture, for you...you may well find a niche and end up making a ton...good luck....just off the top of my head, if that phrase is not on or in the game, you do not use a logo or anything like that, your probably OK...I recall reading an article many years ago when a guy used the phrase from one of the "Dirty Harry" movies and put it on a T-shirt...he sold them, got sued, and lost so the copyright does include not only pictures etc but phrases...if that phrase is not used anywhere, I assume your safe

If you use a phrase like "storm the front", you might be able to argue that it's a phrase, not something that can be copyrighted, and say you weren't referring to the game.

If you use Alienware's trademarked name, or their logo, you'll be hearing from their lawyers.

haha oh i know that.

i have been searching teh internets for legal references to that sort of thing, and also using quotes from movies. it seems like i would be ok, even using trademarked phrases would prolly be ok as long as i don't use it with a specific reference to the movie or whatever. you can't copyright words just to charge people to say them. plus you see tons of shirts that have "anchorman" or "napolean dynamite" quotes on them. m dad is a commercial loan banker, so hopefully he can help me with some of this stuff this weekend, then maybe a talk with a layer.
