Zephyr,

Did you install first release and THEN second release or just the second release straight up?
First, then second. Think thats what is causing the issues?
Don't know, we'll see. I will try to do the second release straight up first.
Yeah, me too.

OK, installed second release staright up. Test works for instant and very fast. App does not work with very fast setting, works with instant setting fine. 1 minute interval.

Amazingly, it works fine wit PowerDVD and WinDVD now.

OK, it wasn't WinDVD. It was my 802.11 connection. All is cool. If you want to use your 9300 as a jukebox, LCD dimmer works fine.

I just installed it for the first time and its only working with the Instant setting. Fine with me but I like Medium the best

Is this exclusive to work on 9300's only?

Still need MS Net? (removed that long ago, could not see need), Do have QuickSet..

He made it perfectly clear that users need NET framework.

There is litrally no reason for anyone to not have the MS NET Framework on their PC. All modern apps will be coded against this technology soon.

This will actually worrk with any Dell laptop that supports Dells Quickset App.

Could i juts request if some part of the app is not working you could make your bug report clear. A state exactly which settings are not working for you.

Im finding some of the posts a little confusing.

I installed it this evening for the first time. It seems to work fine as long as I set Fade Speed to Instant. Any other setting for Fade Speed does nothing at all. As long as Fade Speed is set to Instant all other options (Fade After, Normal/Faded Brightness, Save and Load) all work fine.

I also noticed that the gui isn't opening corrently all the time. I've had it open a number of times where it would crash and display the boarder of the application and buttons only. I have to use the Task Manager to kill and restart the program.

Hope this helps.

Im looking into the problem, it is something to do with the fade timer.

OK Ive fixed it, fixed version will be uploaded tonight. Against my better judgement i decided to use a timer to do the fade effect, but for some reason the timer would not initiate. So Ive program the fade effect as a thread now and all works good, plus thrads are better than timers anyway, just timers are quicker and easier to code(if they work that is).

THX for a great app :- )
Will it ever be made to work on batterypower? As that would be the main use for batterysaving :- )

Just tested it, works with different fade speed fine.

But after setting is set to 1 minute and app is minimized to tray, it fades the screen after about 5 sec instead of 1 min.

Moreover, laptop produces some sort of sound when display is dimmed. Like a liitle insect is inside. Previous version does it too.
