Windows 2000 lost password

I just aquired a Tecra 8100 with win 2000 on it, but don't know the login password of previous owner, so I can't get into windows. Is there anyway to get in instead of reloading a new operating system?

Short of using methods that cannot be discussed on these forums, not really.

But if you have anything (data, pictures, etc.) on there that you want to rescue before reisntalling windows, try using a Linux boot CD (like knoppix) that will let you in to the laptop so you can see the files and copy them to another drive. Alternatviely you could pull the drive out and mount it in a USB enclosure and attach it to another PC or in a desktop with an adaptor and resuce the files from there.
