Specs of laptop:
Sager 9860 Laptop
3.6 Ghz P4 (w/ EMT64 technology)
256MB ATI Radeon X800
17" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) Active Matrix
60 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM) X 2
1024 MB DDR2 SDRAM (533 MHz, PC4200)
2.4X Dual DVD Burner & DVD ROM (dual drives)

Now, i noticed that for motherboard monitor, they don't have sager. Now, if i wanted to use motherboard monitor for my laptop, what should i do? Is there anything on the M. Monitor list i can use for my laptop. I am a newbie to this forum. I am usually on the PcGamer forum, but they can't answer my question

I don't think that motherboard monitor works with the 9860.

I use mobmeter and it works perfectly except it doesn't have the battery charge rate. Everything else shows up though and it's completely compatible with the 9860. Right now, I don't remember where I got it from, but I'm sure many others on the board will provide you with a link soon since it's what most people on here use (I think).

I use D900_Thermal_Utility on my 9880. I can't recall where I downloaded it from but I still have the zip file if you can't locate it. I think I got the link off this forum so perhaps a search will turn it up.

watch out for this software, Sager said that if they see an install on your computer, they will cancel the warranty.

why is that?

because you touch yourself at night.

no really, it is because it messes with your temperature setings, and could blow out a fan, causing overheating or something

The Get Thermal utility lets users set the temperature at which fans go on and off, and how fast. There's no instructions how to use it and it can be confusing. Needless to say the possibility of users inadvertently overheating/destroying their CPUs/GPUs is relatively high. Thus, Sager has implemented the policy that if a user returns his or her Sager for repairs and they discover the Get Thermal utility installed and think it contributed to the damage then that user's warranty is voided.

That's the gist of it anyway. A quick search of these forums will turn up the subject thread that discusses this in detail.

Those issues aside the utility isn't a very useful tool for the casual laptop user. You might find that MobMeter will suit your needs better.

I hope that was a bit more helpful than, "Because you touch yourself." Comments like that only serve to drive new forum users away.
