How Long did your Alienware take?

How long did your Alienware take?? That's a question i think that has been asked over a couple dozen times, and has been answered in a few threads, but I wanted a distinct thread for you lucky few who have and are probing your AW Laptop! If you can, please describe the day you ordered, and the actual day it came in the mail and you cried in joyous glee for a couple of hours!! If you have time, i think it would be great for the faithfully awaiting for theirs to give a descriptive time frame on how much time you also spent in each phase if you can remember. The more description the better! let it all out people like a barbara walters special!!

If this thread already exists i'm sorry, just send the link and we can scrap this one, but from what i've seen there isn't a thread such as this that exists! Plus i think it would be a good compliment to the "What phase is your Area-51m2 on?".

I am about a week or 10 hehe away from my lappy coming and let me just say you guys who have been faithful to this site rule!!

I ordered mine on September 15th, I didnt get my laptop until October 1st. So it took about 15 days for mine.

Ordered Saturday, November 1st

Made 3 different config upgrades the next week

Arrived Wednesday, December 3rd

Ordered Oct. 23...Arrived Nov. 17th...but I made two changes to the order...One change was when P4 prices dropped, I called and upgraded to the 3.2...Second change was when pc3200 RAM became available I upgraded to that...so about 25 days total...

Funniest thing is that I have been out of town since before my lappie arrived and will still be out of town until Dec. 18th. So, my brand new Area-51m is still sealed in its box in the corner of some room at my house....How sad is that? It's been sealed and sitting there for 3 weeks now! Oh well, patience is a virtue...

I think i would literally go crazy!!! but it's kinda funny that it's at home and your away

Well, that might be bad for you because your 30 day money back guarantee will expire soon so if you have problems you'll have to live with it.

Very true Mechanic...but when I bought the lappie I knew I was in it for the long haul! That's why I bought the 3 year warranty...I'm sure it will far exceed my expectations...the current lappie I use is about 3 years old and has a P3 at 600mhz! So even a Dell 5150 would be a tremondous leap for me! Plus, I think my specs will keep me happy for a decent amount of time!

Ordered October 3, made no changes at all and Alienware still tells me my lap top is not in production yet.

As you can see from the posts in front of mine, there have been a boat load of people that ordered far after I did and they made as many as 3 changes to their orders and they all have their lap tops.

I am very disapointed in Alienware's customer service.

I will always rate them at the bottom of the barrel in PC Mags or PC Worlds rating as well as ny other rating survey I am sent or asked to fill out.

You may be in for a very long wait.

I ordered mine November 13th and I received it on December 5th. Considering Thanksgiving that was around 14 business days; and well worth the wait.

it seems that they are holding true to the 15 days so mine was ordered dec 4th so it should ship the 19 and just maybe just maybe I'll get it before xmas. I'll pick it up from the fed station. Im not going to wait for them to deleiver it. I live kind close by them. Thanks guys I bet its worth the wait

It's 15 business days, so you may or may not get it before Xmas. You have to add 6 days to your total because of the weekends.

I order on Nov. 18th and it was going to come Dec. 6th but the freaking weather delayed the Fed Ex guys so I will get it Dec 9th..

Be careful...they quoted you 15 "Working Days"..weekends do not count.

Hey all.. I'm new to the forum but have been reading the last couple weeks.

I ordered my Area-51m on 11/5, but had some credit card issues, and finally had the payment go through on 11/10. The machine still hasn't shipped, but I called on 12/3 and they said it was entering integration and should ship by the end of the week (didn't happen) or beginning of next.

We shall see...
