What did you pay for your 100GB 7200RPM hard drive?

Hello everyone,

I can get the Hitachi 100GB 7200 RPM 2.5" hard drive w/ 8MB cache for $220 shipped. How does this compare to what you paid? Anyone think I should wait a bit on this one, or should I go for it at this cost? It's the best I've seen, ZipZoom has it for $270 shipped. I can get it through my employer.

Thanks!

Some guy posted a link earlier for that drive that came to $212 shipped, but I can't recall the link...it was a place called 'hothardware' or 'hotdigital' or something 'hot'...didn't seem reliable like e.g. Newegg, so where did you get yours?

Wow, thanks corn. I wonder if they should be trusted? That's way cheap compared to everyone else, but a great deal if true.

Yes they can. Ordered mine and received it the next day with UPS ground shipping, sealed new from Hitachi. This drive seems faster than my 60Gb too!

Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the link, i went ahead and ordered one since this is a pretty good price and i'd like to see how much 7200rpm will improve my performance over my 80GB 5400rpm drive.

Those of you who havn't ordered yet dont place an order a tDigitalHotBuy because they are currently out of stock. I placed an order a little bit ago and a girl just called me and said she was sorry but they were out of stock.

Paid $414 Cad inc tax and next day shipping. Had a hard time finding one online in the Canadian stores, got my hands on the Seagate 7200.1 eventually, never saw a Hitachi offered. I know the final price was pretty high, but hard to find things always seem to cost more north of the border.

Does anyone have a link to where I can order a caddy for the drive? I want to be able to quickly swap between the old drive and new one, but don't want to go through the hassle of having to change the caddy around each time. Thanks!
