Faster isn't always better, ask your wife.

The thing I don't understand is, if you have the money to burn, want flashy paint, attention, AND a great computer with the best support out there, why didn't you go with Falcon Northwest? They have a much better rep than Hypersonic, for product, support, and paint...
I did not even look at FNW to be honest. I looked at Voodoo and Hypersonic.
I also did not like the 7700 series by AW so my faith was not totally in their corner.

I just looked at FNWs site and I am feel no buyers remorse. Maybe you should look at both vendors (with current line up) to see what I mean. FNW has only Intel CPUS in their 17" laptop. They don't have the selection of colors and custom paint jobs.

No AMD. No Geforce 7800 go GTX. Don't hate the Beav for crossing lines. At least I went with another boutique vs Dell.
DB,

The AMD one (Aurora 7700) is on deck per the ads we saw.

As to the old graphics cards, I agree. These are all PCI laptops so AW could put 7800 Go's in them.

On another note AWs slowness in updating the ALX line may cost them a sale, as Falcon is quoting me a Mach V with slightly better specs for about $400 less.

17" WUXGA, Centrino, and 6800...

THANK YOU FOR FINALLY GRANTING MY WISHES!!!

Acyually I'll bet the big boy for them will be the 5500. That dual graphics ability let's you either game or travel with equal utility.

I'm with you, I am disappointed but there is more to come, so I will wait until the end of the month...I guess I might be the next Hypersonic owner....it would be outright dumb not to offer AMD and GeForce 7800 go GTX...that makes no logical sense to me...I will spend the $6000 and so will many others so I hope AW is reading this....

yep

I agree, hopefully something good is yet to come. *crosses fingers*
post #138 of 449
I agree Zelly, and it just might come with the 19" screen or an option for either 17 or 19....but if not, I am on the Hypersonic with DB
post #139 of 449
Keep in mind one of the laptops is named Aurora 7700. That implies an AMD laptop is coming.

Come on Solar Eclipse....come off some of that money you have stashed......
