Ah, it's because of the 7800 and the high end CPU's. The one I configured saied December 19th.

Holy **** I had 4500 ready to spend but this laptop is just too expensive. And the color is just Oh well. back to 7700.

Are you planning on keeping your 9300? You could sell that and generate more funds.

I talked shit and I admitted when I was wrong. Here is a question for you who spoke a little crap urselves. Some critized a company I will not mention for taking orders on systems they clearly do not have while glorifying another unamed company for not doing so. Well, a 56 day wait tells me wonder this: Does AW have the items in stock or is it taking orders for that it cannot fulfill at this time? Granted, I respect them giving a realistic or actually conservative time frame (they have always been oh to honest with me), but I think this offering (which is good and I wish they make the announcement earlier so I had an opportunity to order from them) is not all that different from what another company did. If my order from another company does not ship until Jan 18 I will be highly pissed. My guess is AW will be shipping these units much earlier than Jan 18 and thus will be graced with accolades for exceeding customer expectation.

Here's the interesting thing. From the Aurora 7700 description:

Quote:
Desktop Processing Power
The Aurora m7700 features AMD desktop processors, including the Athlon 64 FX and Athlon 64 X2
Now if you look at the desktop systems, NONE of the processors have a 56 day waiting period. And they are the same processors.

Here's another one:

GeForce 7800GTX:

Area-51m - 10 day lead time
Aurora - 56 day lead time

This makes no sense either. The modules should be the same.

Dec 19 with a mediocre CPU/VGA wouldn't have 'swayed' you at the time.

Good to see you back here DarthBeavis!

That evil wine...

ewolff: Yep, I need to give one away to a family member, probably the 9300, not sure yet. I'm gonne have to do a side by side test first I think the blue color of the Aurora turns my off more than the price. I prefered it black/grey. But it's damn powerful, Most powerful laptop yet?

I am wondering since AW is putting there name on 5700/5500,both Uniwill based systems. Will they make them any better. Outside of tech support.

Example: Heat disapation of gpu!

I don't know. I looked at the larger pics of the Conspiracy Blue Aurora and they looked really good.
Don't knock the blue until you see it in person. Pictures do not do it justice.

It is very nice but i want alittle more mobility and battery life.

I had a sager 9860 with the Quatro,I traded for a Dell M70. But other half has taking over Dell, so looking for a new Lappy.

I didn't think they'd release them this quick....they look pretty sweet. I like the blue Aurora, hopefully they'll come out with more colors for all of them.

I see now. The m5500, m5700 or even a TOL Sentia would be sweet...

Good luck on the quest!
