$3300 used!!!

I think I did very well for owning it for 6 months. But if there is one awesome factor about AW's, it's there resell value...

Now I threw in a solid $4k worth of stuff when purchased new, but to get that kind of dough for used technology is nuts...

I'll bet one of them is the Uniwill hybrid that has both the GMA integrated graphics and either a GeForce Go 6800 ultra or 7800. The reason for both is you can switch cards you are using on the fly (the unused card powers down). Allows you to go for the killer card when gaming and the GMA when you need battery life.

I'm hoping they have a good deal going around after Xmas. If that's the case, then all I want for Xmas is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Well, I guess the phrase "you get what you pay for" applies here...I would assume AW's AMD 7700 will be around this price also but, as I said, you get what you pay for....still thinking...merry christmas to me, new one for home and old 7700 for work...say new one is for work, depreciate over 5 years..equals free to me...gotta love the corporate tax laws....hell, DB..is there another AW in your future, I think the clinic needs a "mobile" system....

As my son said, "Dad, you are the poster-boy for the Alienware Sales Department." I replied "No son, somebody else has that position."

And showed him DB's collection!

No problems Red, I have it all figured out for you....I am shipping you a "home pee pee repair kit"...it includes a bottle of Ripple labled..drink for anesthesia....just be careful what you sew to what...easy to read anatomy instructions included in 3 languages with mirror labled "objects appear larger than they really are"....it will be worth the...err..effort?!!!!..,..just remember, the 2 long things are your legs, the other thing is not to be attached to either of those longer appendages

I've been waiting over a year for a new release. I bought the 766 model a month before the 7700 came out. Yeah, I missed the 7700 boat but I knew the 7700 wouldn't see upgradeble graphics modules like previous models. I remember when the gear shop had three graphics modules for sale at any one time. I'm sure these new systems being released next week are going to blow people away. I'm just surprised people are still ordering the 7700 and not waiting for the new line. Reminds me of the Ipod releases. If I had known a video version of the Ipod was coming out I wouldn't had bought the nano.

The old DIY rig I built and put in the office is acting up. I told the wife we will put my old AW lappy there instead if it has issues. And I need a new lappy before my upcoming trips to Orlando and Canun in the first quarter of 2006. If AW can equal the Hypersonic I listed I will likey go AW again. If not, I will be a sweet custom painted Hyper I guess.

$6160 Ouch!

They do have Purple though.

I have to admit, Hypersonic has some sweet paint combo's and that looks like a nice config you put together...I wish AW would offer some custom paint options on their lappys...We'll see what these new rigs are all about in a few days, that Hypersonic looks good....hope AW has a comparable rig.....

AW is so lame to withold the specs of their new lappies.

Some people are simply not going to wait for them to reveal their secret specs... People would buy more AW's if they new what was being released. I'm telling you, the two owners are completely clueless...

Their using the anticipation factor to try and garner more sales and that doesn't work with technology, its actually gonna hurt sales. Oh well...

I will call them and see what I can find out...

Yah, I see that...must have been a glitch somewhere, may well be with their PR people as this is a big deal for AW, we all have been waiting for some time for this....you know, they have to be available by the holidays...
