Just recieved it in the mail. It's a nice looking bag, the material is very tough too. I tried the laptop sleeve, it's a tight fit, and the front top 1/4 of the laptop has no padding protection, but i don't think it'll be a real problem, just that it's not a perfect design.
The sleeve is sort of hang/stuck on the back panel of the bag by velcros, the bottom of the sleeve is about 2" away from the bottom of the bag. it's not very easy to close the main zip because the top of the laptop barely fits inside. with zip closed, u can actually see the shapes of the two top corners. so yeah, it's a tight fit. I'm just thinking maybe if i relocate those velcros on the sleeve, so the sleeve hangs a bit lower than it is now, this problem might go away. but it all depend on how much it can go lower.
I also have a waterfield sleeve. I'm thinking of add some velcros to it so i can use it in beer back since it's a better fitting sleeve. I took the original sleeve out, put laptop in waterfield sleeve, then put them inside the beer back, of course it touches the bottom of the bag. with this setting, it is easier to close the zip and the bag looks better with zip closed. So yeah, I might get someone to fix a velcro or two for me.
Now, with laptop in, there are still space in the bag for maybe 1 or 2 books, or a days cloth for change, not really plenty but adquit, i have no complaint about it.
It's really comfortable hanging down from shoulders, the straps and the back padding actually feel like a shell made for my body. I guess the spine slot will help when the day gets warmer. I never owned another lappy backpack before so i can't compare it to anything, but it feels perfect for me.
If anyone's interested, i might take a few photos to show you how it looks with 9300 inside.
