NEC 6550a Drivers ???

Anybody know where i can find NEC 6550a drivers for my DVD burner. I looked on the Dell site and all it has are the 6500a drivers. The funny thing is that my lappie came with the 6550a but it is not listed on dell even though i punched in the service tag.

BTW, the search function does not seem to work at the moment.

There are no drivers needed hence the reason its not on the site. What your seeing on the Dell site for the 6500a is a firmware upgrade release and not a driver.

There is no such thing as Nec 6550.

There is NEC 6500 and NEC 6650.

Drivers are not needed for any cd/dvd drive, OS is taking care of this.

There are some 3rd party (i.e. hacked) firmwares out there for the 6650. Dell doesn't have anything listed yet because there has never been an upgrade for the stock firmware that comes with the burner. Your burner comes with firmware already, so having firmware listed on Dell's site would be redundant.
