Phillips is screwing with me - Page 4

My guess is they have left the Phlips warranty information up for those that did buy it so you have something to refer to. As far as I know..they no longer sell Phlips or Warrentech..

Now when will the new warranty provider be in place?
That is an interesting question for those who will buy a laptop soon...
Especially this December...

There is a matter of fact, a thread just for official release of Clevo this December reaching 39,000+ views ... 700+ posts

Do you think will that be affected?

If so, many will surely be disappointed..
Another extension of waiting????
Syn is correct. As a courtesy to our customers who have purchased from us in the past we still have all the warranty info pertaining to them left up.

*edit
BTW got your info Gary and I am looking into it.

Thanks Luke

I'm calling up phillips right now and trying to get something worked out if I do then i'll send you an email and post it here on the forum.

a little update...this is the email i sent to Luke...im guessing reading it you guys will have a update on whats going on....

Well i called Phillips today and they told me that Sager would have to contact "Phillips Claims" and then Phillips would authorize Sager to do the repair. When I called Sager, Sager told me that they do not call the extended warrenty company and that I would have to call "Phillips Claim" to get a claim number. So im caught up in a circle where both places wont do nothing for me right now.

Would you be able to call Sager and tell them to call Phillips so they can authorize themselves (sager) to repair my laptop and have it all paid for by Phillips?

Meanwhile Phillips is still trying to work with Desicion One who still isn't offering to put shipping insurance on the shipment. I dont really want to send the laptop out without shipping insurance on it because anything can happen. So yea..thats whats going on now and I'm just wondering if you'd be able to get Sager to do this ?

Or, if Sager wont do it would it be possible that you guys call Phillips and get authorization to repair the laptop and then have it repaired through PCTorque? Just let me know what could happen i guess?

Thanks again Luke.

I believe I may have an answer to questions regarding Philips warranty, Warrantech warranty and warranties in general......
Have a peek at our discussion on Sager Resellers as it is updated...

I was looking at your title... It kinda Ironic...

Philips is a type of screwdriver "hole" ...
One is the Flat (-) the other is crossed called Philips (+) ...

Philips is really screwing with you...

Luke I spoke to Maryum from Phillips and she said she'll call you asap and see if you (PCTorque) will service the laptop so if you guys could service this for me that'd be great just hoping you guys can get back to me asap and are able to service this laptop.

I see your negotiations are going better than mine . So yeah, we can service it through Clevo directly.

did Maryum at Phillips call you?
i asked her to call pctorque and ask for Luke so ya
..hopefully she got through to you? and you'll be able to service the laptop?

She said after she spoke to you guys and checked out your pricing for parts/repairing the laptop she'll get back to me and let me know if PCTorque can service it..

so will PCTorque be servicing the laptop or will it be serviced at Clevo? (wheres that..??) just wanted to know whats going on..hopefully Maryum will give me a call back before 5pm..because after that "business's are closed" so nothing is really going to happen?..

So..main question...did she call?...did she say its ok?....please let it be ok god

oh and if HOPE TO GOD this does work out for us...

im guessing you guys will do somewhat the same thing "Decision One" was attempting doing???

provide me with a shipping/tracking number thats prepaid that i can print off..stick on or w/e or ship me a box with all of that on it

then i put the laptop in the box and ship it out to im guessing PCTorque or Clevo..whoever is repairing the laptop..they repair it and ship it back to me...

all the shipping (going both ways) will have insurance on it to cover the price of the laptop..

and then Phillips will be paying for all costs for shipping (both ways) and repairing?

Wow, thats insane Gary. I can see why you are beyond upset..

Holy crappola.
Man that is TERRIBLE SERVICE.
See if Phillips and or SAGER has a CERtified repair center for SAGER/Clevo LAptops. For instance Best buy has "DEX" for all thier LAptop and Desktop repairs outside the 1 year mfg warrenty. From there the techs can order parts from sony, toshiba, hp, compaq, gateway and obtain them in a timely maner.
DOnt settle for that 3rd party repair crap with half ass parts in your machine, u paid for the extended warrenty u better get what u pay for. Also when u get it serviced, make sure ALL your original parts are still inside of it. I have seen units that come back with missing ram, downclocked cpu, that originally came with hte machine, but some how it got F'd over at teh service center.

HP parts in SAGER????????? To be honest hp is terrible.... i see a lot of hps back at the service bay at best buy all the time. I'd be damn if someone stuck a hp mobo in my machine....

Good luck man and keep us posted...

IS there a warrenty i could buy beyond my 3 year extended?? cuz i would love to have it just in case
post #79 of 131
I believe the 3 year extended warranty is not renewable.
As explained by one good PC Technician from a leading computer store I asked....

The life of electronics have a limit... The components inside starts to fail after a few years...
So before the 3 years, the components are still workable. But after that, depending on the quality of your computer, it starts to decline... And later on a laptop paperweight

So If one can renew an extended warranty past 3 years, then the company will definitely lose profit.

However, If a laptop is really defective or of poor quality, it will fail mostly within a few days or months and generally up to a year. And some within the 3 year extended warranty.

So If you have a defective laptop and you have to pay for the shipping for it to be repaired or exchanged, then it is really distressing.
