Screen problems..need help

On my 12 ibook the screen is starting to flicker not completely off but diming can any one tell me whats wrong?

could u describe it a bit more? when does it dim? under what circumstances?

Under the Normal and Better Energy Savings settings of the Energy Saver control panel, the screen is set to dim before turning off if the computer is not used for a specific amount of time.

I know its suppose to dim under the power setting so i set it to DVD playback and it still did it. It dim's like it would under longest battery life before the screen goes off.

It wouldn't dim if you were playing a DVD.

hmm,where are u looking at? i'm in Tiger 10.4.2 and i don't see a DVD option in my power settings. under "options" i usually uncheck "automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep". with it checked it dims the screen even when u have it plugged in.

Could be as simple as a DC solder joint issue or as bad as a Video cable chafing issue.. These are a royal pain to work on but they are repairable.. Good notebooks!
