Their customer service may not be the best, but they are not stingy. Called about replacing my ac adapter cause I am getting warning messages that ac adapter type can't be recognised and they are sending me a new one. And they say I can keep the old one as well!!
No more carrying that brick to work! I can keep one home and one at work.
Maybe you can try it as well if you don't want carrying the brick back and forth all the time. I can give you the warning message.
"The AC Power Adapter type cannot be determined. this will prevent optimal system performance.
Strike the F3 key (before the F1 or F2 key) if you do not want to see power warning messages again.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility"
Also in the bios where it has the power settings where it is supposed to say the adapter type it says not recognised.

even if he keeps the crappy AC adaptor, hes still gona have prolbems using it, regardless of where he is (unless its a power problem at his house)
