Any thoughts on this notebook? I'm in the market for a notebook and this one seems like a great deal for all that you get:

WinXP Home
P4 2.5GHz
8kb and 12kb Trace Cache
512kb level 2 cahce
400Mhx fsb
512mb pc-210 ddr sdram
(2) 256 so-dimm mem
40GB ata/100 HD
combo DVD-Rom / 24x10x24 CD-RW
15" XGA active Matrix Display
intergrated 4x AGP SIS video chipset 32mb mem
8 cell rechargeble lithuim ion battery


I've never owned or heard anything about WInBooks, I would like to know if they are good notebooks before I pay $1k

For $1,000 it seems decent enough... have a link for a more thorough review? The 2x256MB chips is WEAK, as is the video. I would gather this is being sold from a liquidator, so the price will keep going down. Check TigerDirect, if you haven't already.

Its being sold at a place called MicroCenter, the problem is that I'm leaving the US on Saturday and don't have time now for shipping. I tried looking for a review of some sort, found some decent ones on cnet.com but not for that particular model. I'm afraid I'll end up buying something and not liking, I won't have the chance to return it you see...
