Going to buy new notebook and need info from Hypersonic Rep or those in the "know"

i have bought 2 Sager notebooks previously. They have always been great computers with a decent price. HOwever, it seems as though they have gotten behind as of recent in terms of latest technology. i have found nobody but Hypersonic-PC is offering Athlon FX 57 chips tied to a nVidia 7800 GTX card. Sager doesn't offer this. I saw recently an advertisement that mentioned that the nVidia 7800 in the notebooks will be upgradeable to SLI (dual videocards). Is this true? If I buy a notebook as it is now (with the 7800 in it) will the upgrade be possible or do i need to wait for the next version of the FX7 which might have a different motherboard, etc. Can we get SLI version now? It's not listed as that on the website-

Please give me an e-mail address or phone number if such a notebook computer is possible to order from SAGER or Hypersonic, or another vender.

Clevo based PC SLI?

Thats news to me, personally I would not want to venture there due to the shear heat that it would kick out. When I hear SLI I only think Liquid Cooling and Desktop.

With the power draw alone your going to be handcuffed to an AC outlet all the time.

As far as Clevo supporting it I have yet to hear anything of that nature. Their biggest concern is supporting AMD right now. That SLI reference may have been a projected dream machine, and if its going to happen it wont be soon.

1) No, there is no laptop SLI or planned SLI -- its just too much power

2) Sager does have the FX chips, in fact hypersonic uses the same laptop manufacturer as sager (named clevo). Hypersonic is listing that laptop PREMATURELY... it has not been released yet (I believe...) Sager does have that laptop, model number NP9750 (clevo model d900k) -- it will have the dual core and FX 57 options.

3) any gfx card hypersonic is using sager will also be able to use

So you think I will not receive my laptop in the 4-5 week time frame Hyper agreed to (well they said it would ship then and I chose 3 day shipping).

Im not sure ... as of a couple weeks ago it wasn't released and hypersonic was prematurely posting it. They were having issues with supporting the X2... however by now im sure they've been worked out. Whether or not they're shipping this day, i cannot say, but im sure that the 4-5 weeks is well enough time for it to get to you. If its not shipping today it will definetly be soon -- as sager's own website does list the computer -- pctorque does not yet though.

yeah, i posted in several of the forums to try and get as many responses and knowledgeable people to see the answers. i love my sager notebooks that i got in the past, but they don't offer this much power (the fx-57 with the geforce 7800) right now and so i was looking into it. i posted the same thing in hypersonic, sager, and alienware so that it would have more responses. i hope that there's nothing wrong with that? some people who frequent one board might not see it on one of the other board's threads-

As I said before, hypersonic is premature -- sager isnt shipping these until mid-december.... To darth: I'de call Hyper, maybe they're ordering straight from Clevo -- who knows.

So they are saying estimated ship date mid of December and they are a reseller. It makes sense Hyper is saying around the same time frame. One week earlier or maybe two. Not a big difference. I doubt Hyper gets their systems from another reseller who also sells direct to the consumer.

The problem is that they won't be getting the computer until mid-December from Clevo, then AFTER that they have to send the chassis off to Smooth Creations to be painted. Realistically, I just don't see you getting your laptop before the end of the year. Hypersonic was banking on everything going according to schedule with the early November Clevo release. That's not going to happen now.

Stranger things have happened.

From what I know of Hype

The case would be painted and waiting for the "guts" to arrive. It would be just a matter of assembling it and shipping. So DB maybe getting it at the scheduled time.

It depends if the EX7 and FX7 have the exact same chassis which I believe is not the case since the FX7 is slightly different. Therefore, you would have to wait an additional 3-5 weeks for the FX7 case to be shipped off to be painted.

However, for the current EX7, you are correct. My system was shipped off about 4 weeks ago and is coming in next week. It will then just be waiting for the new motherboard and GeForce Go 7800 GTX to come in before it can be shipped. Therefore, the paint on this system did not take any longer than a non-painted system would have taken. However, this is a rare situation.

I ordered a system very similar to Darth's,

http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=114011

the main difference being that I'm getting an FX CPU versus his X2.

Hypersonic is giving me an estimated ship date of November 14.

Since it's the same chassis and same motherbaord, I don't see why his would be delayed any longer than mine. I jsut ordered it a couple days ago, so apparently they aren't expecting a delay.

With a face like Hoss' you better not lie about the ship date. That is opening up a can of ugly you will never get sealed again.
Well, you guys can keep thinking you'll get it shipped in mid-November if it makes you feel better, but don't say we didn't warn you when it gets delayed.
I am not saying it wont be delayed. I am just telling you what they told me.
