8600 side usb??

on the 8600 on the right side, there's a mark for usb but there's a cover over where the ports should be !!

can i easily get some parts and make the usb ports there available or is it supposed to be on the motherboard and it was just chassis sharing with another model dell? it seems like a slap in the face that theres even a symbol for usb but the port is covered

No, there isn't the port on the mother board behind the plastic

you can mod it to put one there but im to lazy - some 600 user did it

Yeah, I think the moulds are the same for the D800 and M60. Maybe also for M70 and D810. They are all pretty similar.. except our 8600 without lateral usb. They would have been really useful, btw, but I can live without 'em

You can solder a USB into that port, but you will still only have two-port functionality.

The M70/D810 have four USB ports, as does the i6000, I believe.

hmm thanks. i have a 6000 myself. i was just looking at a 8600 the other day
