FEAR Pwns all if you have a GPU thats up to snuff. Just finished it today, and its the best $55 on a game I ever spent. Doom3 sux in comparison (yeah i have it too)

F.E.A.R is way better when it comes to graphics and gameplay.
Also, it has a really scary touch to it because of it's fantastic horror elements.
QUAKE 4 is just another sci-fi shooter built with the DOOM III engine.
The details in F.E.A.R and the unravelling story makes this game the best FPS shooter of 2005 with ease.
But... that's my what I think about it.
I rather spend time playing F.E.A.R then Quake 4.
Quake 4 is just good fun and I read it does get a lot more interesting later on so when I am done with F.E.A.R, I'll have Quake 4 as a nice desert!

I finished Quake 4, there's nothing out of the ordinary about it. The story isn't too bad, but nothing to write home about. The ending of the game just screams sequel!

FEAR, I haven't played the single player yet. I'm having way too much fun with it's multiplay. Everytime I launch the game I couldn't resist hitting Mulitplay.

Yea, I think I'm almost finished with Quake4. It's ok so far. Very sick and nasty sequences. Awful stuff happens to the soldiers Some interesting visuals, and nice variety. I just like it because it runs great on my 9300 on 1920X1200

Finished Fear. Too damn repetitive, but the game is excellent. Quake has more variety of gameplay/guns/enemies/vehicles, but the overall game is just average. I think Fear is a better game..maybe

Vravro, what kind of frames are you getting on Quake 4? Also, what graphics settings do you have it on?

IMO Quake 4 is more fun, but FEAR is more unique.

Groove: Last time I played it it was on ultra high, 1920X1200, 2Xaa, and I was getting frame rate at about 45-15 on average. It does studder on high quality, but not much. Someone mentioned here that I should set it on high quality and not ultra. I'll probably try that tonight.

Yes, totally agree with that. At the end, Quake had much much more to it. But still flawed.

Sorry, didn't mean for it to sound frustrated. I just thought it was a funny poll.

Besides, all the cool kids are playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Well, we might be some day.

Cool, it sounds like the 9300 can handle it fine then. Thanks.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. looks so unbelievably good. I think it'll put both of these to shame. They are taking a long time to make it, but I'd rather wait for a fantastic and finished product then some half ass stuff thats thrown out there (BF2 this summer anyone?).
