Did anyone else find that the highest level of difficulty didn't really make any noticeable difference? I was really hoping it was going to be insanely difficult to beat the game that way. I don't think the AI changed, but maybe they got more hit points, moved a tiny bit faster, something like that. All I know is that it didn't really seem to do anything to make it harder.

Are there any rumors of a sequel?

HL2 was too scripted. People jumped up and down about how much better it was than Doom3, at least the imps in Doom3 through fireballs at you AND lunged now and then. HL2 just had combines with scripted entries that fired until you killed them or they killed you. Dont get me wrong, it was a great game, but giving bots more hit points doesnt make the game harder (as long as you know how to shoot). Personally I hate that. I mean damn it, if I shoot a guy in a head with a gun, he's down, maybe he's not dead, but he's down and that's all I care about. It's like the less than 100dmg headshots in CS:S, wtf? Harder difficulty levels should focus on faster, more intelligent enemies.

P.S. - Damn it, I missed out on FC cause I was working several jobs that summer (only got to play Doom 3), I'll get it for winter break though

I agree. And it should happen that way in games too! :-)

I like Ghost Recon (the first one) for that very reason. You are VERY unlikely to survive a direct hit. You will not survive a direct hit to the head. And if you are wounded, too bad. There are no "healh kits" to make you all better. It adds a whole new aspect to the FPS. "I'll just Rambo it and then grab some health or respawn and run back if I die." No. You won't.

I was playing FEAR earliar... I had come to a level where I was hiding behind a wall from a unit of guys... well, there was another door and 2 of the guys were smart enough to go through it (nobody came near the door i was trying to hide)... 1 set up behind me and started firing at me from around the corner, the other waited to ambush me after i went to collect the 1st guys gun and walk a bit farther to see where they came from...

Pretty good if ya ask me.
