Do you have any information about it?

Sorry - This sounds like BS or trolling without any facts. An "insider" who joined the forum this month with a coupla posts? The 6000 form factor has been carried over to the XPS 140/etc. There haven't been any major problems with the 6000's that I'm aware of (this is being sent from a 6000D + my daughter has one at college). I've been wrong a gazillion times before - but somethings rotten in Denmark about this "news"...

yeah i just dont see it happening, maybe an update but not a whole new form factor.

It's probably gonna be like the Inspiron 6100 updated with Yonah. The form factor won't change much, but since Yonah has a TDP up to 49W they'll probably have to rework the internals to make sure the heat can be handled.

That could be true since that new CPU Yonah (Click Here) will also be released very early next year. Yonah produces more heat and consumes more power.

Isn't this pretty much what said?

"replace the inspiron 6000 by an updated version."

Considering the major launch from Intel that is set for early next year (Yonah) I expect Dell and other major PC makers to update many of there laptops during this time. I expect updates for the 9300, 6000, 710m and the XPS systems all during the first part of next year.

Christ0phe - I apologize for my very poor choice of words. I did not intend for my comments to be offensive, but they were - I'm sorry. I was so surprised at the news - I have bought two 6000D's in the past few months and I was indignant with Dell - not you.

GeoJelly,

There is NO SUCH THING as right time to buy a new computer.

6000D's are wonderful alptops. I had mine for two months and loved it. Sold it in favor of 9300, which also might be replaced by Dell, and might be replaced soon.

But you know what? I do not care.
