sound quality on your dell - Page 2

internal speakers for the 6000d stinks compared to the 8600 in my comparsion. Everytime I type, it blocks the speakers and it has less bass then what the 8600 gives

Yeah but your XPS is 17" in size. I'm only into the really small ones.

The two inspirons I've had haven't have very much base. Very little base.

Dells have pretty good speakers in their laptops. But using external speakers, i have noticed the difference between my lappy sound card and desktop sound card (same premium speakers). Music in my desktop sound a little better than my lappy in terms of clearness of treble and deepness of bass.

Unless you want to use 5.1's or 7.1's in your lappy, you don't really need to purchase premium soundcards.

Just FYI, at Creatives website, you can update your 2 ZS to play through your laptop speakers.

i usually use headphones though. i hear on my 8600, but the sound is decent in my opinion.
As stated above you can, and I do though the sound is clearer its not as loud by any means. But its meant to be hooked up to speakers or headphones which friken rocks
post #35 of 44
that is what im probably going to get, the"audigy zs 2", its nice?
It is nice if you plan on using headphones or external speakers, but if your just using your lappy speakers it wont make much of a difference.
Yes indeed, the sound quality is much improved, not essential but very nice to have
post #38 of 44
oh, i have external speakers

modding your speakers?...you could do some creative modding, but it would take some work and effort that doesn't justify the end result. bottom line, speakers on any laptop sucks, some suck more than others. you ain't gonna get full sound from any of them. if you want louder and better you will need to line-out or digital out the sound to outboard speakers.

better yet, just plug in some headphones. if you want to get really sexy, connect the headphone output on your 700m to an outboard headphone amp and have at it.

My 700m has a noticeable hiss when I plug headphones into it. I don't know if it's because my 700m has a bad headphone jack or because the built-in sound just plain sucks.
