Is paypal safe for avoiding scam? - Page 2

I know its not going to be a popular statement, but:

For every disaster story, there are easily as many good stories. If PayPal was as bad as everyone has made it out to be, it wouldn't still be around. No system is perfect, but Paypal has helped me out of more then one jam.

Now, for the finally... I don't disbelieve those who say they have been screwed, it happens. But not everyone gets screwed, and not everyone has had these kinds of problems with paypal.

Thats my 2-cents. Also, always use a Credit Card (like others are saying), because then you have an extra avenue to use if you do get screwed.

MarsKnight is right too... I had used Paypal successfully for many years before this happened. Best advice, regardless, is to use a credit card & tread lightly... You can make Paypal work for you but once it fails, that seems to be it.
You know the really frustrating part of all this, is there is really NO other alternative. eBay buys them all up! C2it is gone, CheckFree is gone, Bidpay only goes to $1000 & is a bit pricey. I am personally hoping that Google launches their payment service.
