Yah, good luck timmy, post here if you have questions/concerns/problems or if you wish to gloat because it does work ; we'll try to help as much as we can .

And I'd still like to know the details on ultratobias's motherboard set up. Hell, I might tinker with some work on the PLL over spring break as I still have my 2.0GHz P-M lying around. Might as well see if I can get some life out of the ol' girl .

And no problem prona, you help a lot on the forum and post loads of good information, no reason you shouldn't be full green

Actually, I have a really crappy thermal grease set up, as I left the AS5 and Isopropyl alcohol at my parent's house. Next time I head home I will clean that stuff off the die and heatsink and do a better job at it.

Just add your sisters address to your PayPal account. My father has stuff shipped to me all the time here in the States and I ship it up to him in Canada.

ebay cheapest places to get P-Ms. I paid like $150+$11 shipping for my 745.

I got my 725 last night, installed it and its priming now. So far so good. 2.13Ghz.

I just pin-modded my 9300 with a 745 to 2.4GHz. It boots up fine, even plays games fine. When I run Prime95 though it returns an error after 15 minutes or so. What should I do? Will a voltage pin mod help me be stable in Prime95? Anyone lead me in the right direction? Thanks, this is my first post but I've been reading the forum for months!

BTW What software are you using to keep track of CPU and GPU temps?
OK, so I just voltmodded to 1.404v by grounding VID2. Ran Prime95 and it failed at 22 minutes this time. Hmmm. Maybe I'll ground VID1 and VID2 this time, pushing voltage to 1.436v. I'll report back as soon as Prime95 fails again haha.

Grounded VID1 and VID2, but now SpeedFan is reading my temperature to be 55C! It has always been about 39C or 40C before (even with the previous volt mods). I reapplied AS5 exactly as before too. What could be the problem? I am still running Prime95 on this new voltage (1.436v).
I was stable all night with Prime95 at 1.436v. My CPU temp (according to i9kfanGUI) stayed at around 65C while the torture test was running. As soon as the CPU load drops from 100% the temp drops to the mid 40's. Is this normal? Seems a bit hot, but my max CPU temp was 67C.
Yea, that's normal. you can use rmclock to drop your voltage to 1.42 and that will drop your temps a little (if its stable). Mine is stable at 1.372 (my temps hover around 60 to 61 under load). When I had my voltage at 1.404 my temps were 65-67.

Excuse me for my silly question... How to ground VID1 or VID 2? I saw the pinmodding guide but is there also an online photo guide for voltmodding?
Maybe. But it's pretty much just tweezers and a good eye!! Vid1 is the vid1 hole to a ground hole and Vid2 is the vid2 hole to a ground hole.

Thanks for the answer!

How do I know which one is a ground hole?

Look at the diagram of the socket's pins on the first post of this thread. The black dots are grounds.
I got it. The ground hole is adjacent to the vid's
post #179 of 565

Thanks man!

I figured it out already. thanks!
