Downclocking the 8790?

I have been thinking about downclocking my cpu and gpu. I want to extend my battery life and hopefully get cooler temperatures. I have been looking for a program to overclock this unit with and have had no luck. I did investigate ClockGen yet I did not see my mainboard in there. From CPU-Z my mainboard is the CLEVO-D870P. I do know I can use PowerStrip or ATI Tool to adjust clock speed on the gpu.

Does anyone know of a program for over/under clocking the cpu. Or the right ClockGen version to get for the 8790 mainboard.

Thanks

no, as of now i'm not artifacting. but i gave up trying to use my laptop to play games or anything video intensive. i was having to many problems with video and slow downs, which is sad becuase that way why i bought this thing. but i'm not here to complain about the 8790, there are plenty of people doing that right now.

i have absolutely no intentions of overclocking, overclocking this laptop is a horrible idea due to it's inability to stay cool at stock settings. i want to downclock the system. since i primarily use it to work on less intensive applications now, i want it to stay cooler and have longer battery life. i was hoping that by downclocking the system i may be able to achieve at least one of these goals.

in the 8970 artifacting thread, someone mentioned try speeds with a certain multiple, might have been 6.75 but i forget
