I bought a 8103 back in August
Just a few days ago, I installed a game that installed DirectX 9.0c, and thats when this issue started up.

My laptop will boot into windows.. be all fine if i do not start any apps that use directx. once i play a game, blue screens galore, critical system error, etc. rebooting doesn't help, system will not boot. the green power light stays on, the hard drive access light blinks repeatedly, and then stops after a few seconds. no bios or post screens, nada.

have to leave laptop off for 10-15 minutes, then it will boot normally again.

backed up all my files last night, and now I'm trying to format it.
the recovery process crashed on disc2/2 .. ghost prompted me to place the cd in and press enter, i did and nothing happened.

waited 15 minutes, now the boot sequence shows something very strange.
doesn't show my ram amount correctly. (i have 2x1gb modules from kingston).

i am scared that its a hardware issue and that something is broken :x
about to pull the ram out and possibly even do a memtest86 run if i can get the laptop to boot up

any ideas on what this can be? most likely bad ram?
