Battery Death

Thread Starter
I have owned my sager for about a year and a half. Rcently the battery does this very weird thing where it work fine until about 80%-85% and then the power drops to 5% and I have to shut down or change my power supply. Does anyone have any thoughts to why this might be happening?

The battery is dead, IOW, needs replacing.

Yup..it's suffering the fate that all rechargeable batteries face at a point in time...

I hope you have the extended warranty otherwise you could be spending a somewhat significant amount of money for a replacement...

I have noticed that my battery is not charging to capacity. Using ACPI on linux kernel 2.4.22 my battery status output is something like: 2684mAh where as it should be closer to 4000mAh... i am curious what other people read their battery as at full charge. also is there a way to preserve/fix the battery if something is wrong with it? possibly hooking up a resistor (maybe a dc comp fan) to fully drain it. i have been running iwth the battery always in place and the comp almost continually plugged in. i have hear that this is best, am i mis-informed?

if you have the extended warranty will sager replace a dead battery? if soo... i might just wear mine into the ground ASAP

... spose that is enough questions for now.
