Where to go from here..

Two months ago, I purchased a Dell Inspiron 700m. Instead of me retyping my entire story, I'll just post it straight from a chat I'm having with a Dell rep.

Quote:
{****** ******* 5:28:37 PM} Let me just tell you a little bit about my experience since purchasing this computer in early August.
{****** ******* 5:29:05 PM} I purchase it and you guys are good about giving me next day shipping with regard to the fact that my computer was needed within a week,
{****** ******* 5:29:44 PM} within a day, the computer is boxing.. too bad it takes about a week to leave boxing, and 2 hours before I'm scheduled to leave on vacation the next week, it arrives. i got into many quibbles with support, you guys totally let me down then.
{****** ******* 5:30:12 PM} and when the computer comes, it's physically damaged and contains the improper amount of RAM (I ordered 1 GB instead of the 512 it came with)
{****** ******* 5:31:15 PM} i talk to them once i get to boston (my vacation destination).. dell claims nothing is wrong and won't exchange the system for a new one, but they eventually cave in and give me a new system.
{****** ******* 5:31:42 PM} the exchange doesnt show up on order status for two weeks, so I contact you guys again. after about 1 hour explaining the situation and getting nothing done.
{****** ******* 5:31:57 PM} they finally admit there is a problem and the exchange finally shows up, a week later, I get it.
{****** ******* 5:32:12 PM} the speakers are immediately blown out and the screen was scratched on arrival
{****** ******* 5:33:04 PM} the computer doesn't even sense the charger, the computer doesn't boot 3/4 of the time.
{****** ******* 5:33:20 PM} the computer doesnt sense my mouse (that works on every other computer)
{****** ******* 5:33:26 PM} the computer doesn't sense being unplugged.
{****** ******* 5:33:39 PM} the computer freezes coming off of standby
{****** ******* 5:33:45 PM} among about 10 other issues.
{****** ******* 5:34:18 PM} yeah, but you see, this is a computer I ordered a mere two months ago. to wake up and know that I spent $1300 on a refurbished product is terrible, especially after what has transpired.
{****** ******* 5:34:58 PM} i bought the computer new just 2 months ago, how anybody expects me to settle for a refurbished product is beyond me.. if it was a year or more ago, I'd understand, but not 2 months.
{****** ******* 5:35:26 PM} if you want, i'll extend my warranty, whatever, I just need a brand new, like-for-like replacement system.
Should I keep on persisting for a new system? Should I give up? What route should I take?

Thanks, I need major assistance here.

don't hint that you will budge. Hell become such a pain in their ass they HAVE to give it to you.

I agree with Blackartemis because all people that work in cutomer service there will only help you if you have patience. So just keep bothering them and they'll want to get rid of you, so they'll actually listen.(DONT EVER GO WITH DELL. THEY'll NEVER GET IT RIGHT)

O just a quick question, do u want to use it for gaming?

Well, I finally found a decent rep.

He put in a request to get me a brand new replacement. I should hear from them within an hour.
