DVD-RW format issue
Hey guys, big fan of all of your posts over the years. I've loved my NP3790 (stilll do), but I'm having trouble at the moment with my 4x DVD-RW drive. I recently bought a stack of TDK 4x DVD-RW rewritable DVDs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817508002
) and can't get them to work. Nero gives me this message:
The disc in the drive is not empty.
Writing to this disc will erase any existing data on it.
Do you want to proceed?
If I click yes, it seems to erase it (rather quickly, I might add; supposed to take 2 mins but it actually takes like 5 secs and doesn't seem to fix the problem at all), but then ejects the disc and when I pop it back in again the same message appears (that it's not empty and that it will erase data on it).
I've tried using Nero's "Erase Rewritable Disc" function, but that gives me a message saying:
TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6372:
This disc is not rewritable and therefore cannot be erased.
Please insert a rewritable disc.
I've also tried using XP's built-in burning software but that doesn't seem to work either, saying:
The disc in the drive is not a writable CD or it is full.
Please insert a blank, writable CD into drive D:\, or insert a disc with
enough freespace to hold all the files you have selected for writing to CD.
SO, any ideas? Is there a driver for the drive that I need to install?
