I guess this means you decided to build your own desktop. Good choice . That is one sweet computer.

As far as AMD vs. Intel I would probably go with AMD but either one will kick butt. You could save some money by going with a slower processor and overclocking (2.4-2.8 should overclock better than 3.0-3.2). But thats really up to you.

Good choice on the Ram. I have heard many good things about Kingston HyperX. I use CorsairXMS in my desktop but they are both really good and I believe Kingston is slightly cheaper.

Those Thermaltake towers are really nice looking (though they arent for everyone). I have a Thermaltake Xaser II and I like it a lot (though I did replace the orange case fans with blue LED light fans).

When 64-bit apps come out the current AMD will have a tough time. It is good for 32=bit apps that are currently out. Get the AMD if you want and see if you will be able to upgrade it in the future.

Sorry for not making that clear the first time.

Why would the AMD64 have a tough time when 64-bit apps come out? It was specifically made for 64-bit applications.
Intel is the one that does not have a consumer-level 64bit processor. They are the ones that should be worried about 64bit apps catching on.
